KUANTAN: A plastic recycling plant in the Semambu Industrial Area has been told to halt all work for two weeks after residents complained of thick black smoke rising from behind its premises. Department of Environment officers who inspected the site on Tuesday morning found workers setting fire to plastic scraps in an open yard. The company, which has operated in the area since 2009, must install proper waste-handling equipment before it is allowed to reopen.
