Smartphones have become part of daily life for most young people – they are used for talking, learning, playing and much more, and people often feel strongly that they do more good or more harm.

Your teacher would like you to write a piece called 'Smartphones: for and against'.

In your writing, include:

• the role smartphones have in your own daily life
• the reasons some people support smartphones while others oppose them
• your own opinion of smartphones, with reasons.
